Located in the Forest Hills area of Grand Rapids, our shop is built around inclusivity, creativity, and making sure everyone feels comfortable in the chair.

We specialize in fades, mullets, beard trims, and alternative styles, but the truth is we’re here for whatever your imagination brings in the door. Around here, hair has no gender and no limits — just possibilities. Our team approaches every cut like artists, working with you to create a look that truly feels like you.

    We specialize in traditional barber haircuts and can cut every texture and most styles of hair. Whether you’re looking for something high and tight, an old school slick back taper, or skin-tight fades and everything in between - we have you covered.


    Our barbers are all licensed in the State of Michigan and bring years of experience to dial your look in just the way you like it. 

  • Beards & Facial Hair

    From beards and goatees to sideburns. Gentlemen, there is no reason to let your facial hair get out of control. While you’re in the chair, tell your barber to trim and line up your beard - you will thank us later.

  • Children's Haircuts

    Headed in for a haircut? Feel free to bring your children along with you.  We like to say that we take care of the entire community. Your children are no different and we want to make sure they have a positive experience in the chair and that you are happy with the results.

  • Sensory Haircuts

    We provide Haircuts that cater to the unique sensory needs of each individual; ensuring a calm and comfortable experience. Just fill out the form linked below and we will respond with the best appointment considerations.

Rob

Rob and his Wife, Julianne, live and work right here in the Forest Hills Area alongside their 3 children, 2 of whom graduated from Forest Hills Northern. Rob's wife, a teacher at Forest Hills Central, makes it a house divided! A United States Navy veteran, Rob has been a professional barber since 2008 and has owned Forest Hills Barber Shop since 2015, following Pete Hamilton's tenure. Rob looks forward to seeing you in the shop!

Ian

Ian grew up in Lansing and moved to Grand Rapids in 2014 with his dad, Rob, and stepmom, Julianne. After five years honing his customer service skills in the restaurant industry, he found his true calling in barbering and has been crafting great cuts since 2020. Ian’s chair is the place to be if you enjoy a solid conversation - especially about baseball or Star Wars. He’s all about delivering a haircut that fits your style and personality, and he’s excited to welcome you to the shop!

Ash

Ash has always been drawn to art, earning a Game Design degree in 2012 before serving in the military. In 2022, she returned to her creative roots through barbering, specializing in clean, long-lasting cuts and custom hair designs. She joined the Forest Hills Barbershop in 2023 and brings her love of art, video games, and great conversation to every appointment. For custom design ideas, reach out at 0ash.en.rose0@gmail.com.

Robby

Robby is a Michigan native and proud Detroit Lions fan who brings energy, authenticity, and a deep sense of community to the barbershop. After graduating from Northview High School in 2013 and spending ten years in corporate America, he chose to pursue a more fulfilling path rooted in connection and creativity. Having grown up around barbershops, Robby has long admired the craft and the camaraderie it builds. Today, he’s passionate about helping clients feel confident and creating an inclusive space where everyone feels welcome. During his Apprenticeship, you can contact Robby @hairbyslobby or select apprentice cuts for appointments.
